We are now looking for an experienced engineer to join our friendly and welcoming team.
Job Summary
Suitable for qualified/experienced marine engineer or qualified technician from a plant, automotive, agricultural ackground or similar looking to expand their job status.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will be required to accurately diagnose problems, service, undertake general repairs and meet deadlines. Working on engines from 2 HP to 1600 HP and craft between 4 m to 25m in length. As such you will be fully qualified and be able to demonstrate experience.
You will also be reliable and able to work efficiently on your own and as part of a team. You will take pride in your work and strongly believe in a ‘First Time Fix’.
Key requirements:
- Previous experience of servicing and repairing diesel engines
- Willingness to travel/stay away from home to cover work on different sites when necessary (both UK wide and occasionally Europe)
- Full driving licence
- Knowledge of general boat repair and maintenance preferred but training will be provided
- Knowledge of outboard motor maintenance and repair preferred but training will be provided
- Knowledge of basic boat electrics preferred
- Willingness to continue professional development training – both on site and away from home
- Strong analytical skills for methodical problem solving
- Good time management
- Team player with ability to work alone
- Ability to work outside in all weathers
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience of servicing and repairing diesel engines
- Full driving licence
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in motor vehicle engineering
