Duties

- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers or clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements while maintaining risk appetite.
- Analyse financial data, including mathematical models, to support underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with sales teams and other departments to develop customised insurance solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor existing policies for potential risk changes and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging risks affecting underwriting practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in risk analysis within financial services, banking, or insurance sectors.
- Strong skills in negotiation, quantitative analysis, and mathematical reasoning.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement interpretation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to evaluate complex data efficiently.
- Familiarity with underwriting software and tools is desirable.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail coupled with strong analytical thinking capabilities.
