As Climbing Manager, we provide all the training required to set you up for success. Your role is a fundamental part of our business, and you will work as part of a team to ensure that our Climbing Arena and High Ropes is running safely, smoothly and on time providing a safe and fun experience, interacting with the participants and enhancing their experience through positive engagement, whilst ensuring all operating procedures, safety and compliance regulations are fully adhered to.
We are looking for a Climbing Manager who:
- Has experience in working with children, interacting and engaging with a range of ages.
- Be able to work as part of a team and the ability to keep calm and focused during your shift.
- Be flexible in their coaching hours, reliable and punctual.
- Ideally be qualified Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) or have relevant climbing experience.
- This role requires regular weekend work
Key Accountabilities:
- To lead by example and ensure that all team members follow the company code of conduct.
- To ensure the Team deliver the highest level of customer service and safety to all in the Climbing Arena and High Ropes area.
- To manage, train and develop, coaching of all team members.
- Maintain records and update paperwork relating to training.
- Raise poor performance issues and deal with, liaising with Centre Manager.
- To Assist staff rota to ensure adequate resources to deliver excellent service, or alternatively reducing workforce hours to fit the needs of the business.
- Assist the Centre Manager for any large event, group or school booking.
- Manage parties on the day of event, ensuring staff maintain excellent service levels, making a positive impact on the child’s birthday.
- Carry out daily & monthly safety checks on climbing equipment
- Ensure the safe running of the Climbing Arena in accordance with risk assessments and operating procedures.
- Work with team members to ensure all shift operational duties are undertaken.
- Attend ongoing staff training and development opportunities.
- Ensure all administrative procedures are carried out in the correct manner, ensuring confidentiality and security as necessary.
- Manage the team to advise and supervise customers to ensure appropriate behaviour is demonstrated for the enjoyment of all customers, including appropriate use of equipment and facilities.
Ensure the highest level of customer service is being always delivered:
- Responsible for inspiring and motivating customers of all ages and backgrounds in a safe climbing environment.
- Adopt a proactive approach to customer service, being enthusiastic and reliable.
- Interact and assist with customers, providing an exceptional customer experience
- To supervise customers in all areas of the centre operated by Out of Bounds, always ensuring their safety.
- Be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of our climbing customers.
- To Manage the team to always be polite and courteous to customers and colleagues.
- Deal with customer requests in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure any comments/compliments/complaints/issues/concerns are dealt with in a professional manner, highlighting concerns and actions to the General Manager immediately.
Cover as appropriate other areas of the centre:
- Provide support and cover for colleagues as and when required.
