The Hastings Sofa Company Ltd is a rapidly expanding manufacturer of high-quality upholstered furniture. Over the past few years, the company has nearly doubled its workforce, reflecting its dynamic growth and commitment to excellence.
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead our financial operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial management, accounting, and planning activities to ensure the company’s financial health and strategic growth. Your leadership will drive cost control initiatives, manage accounts payable processes, and support overall financial services to facilitate informed decision-making across the organization.
Duties
- Responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts and group management accounts pack. Providing a monthly financial report to the Board of Directors.
- Preparation of monthly reports detailing sales and orders received by customer for Sales Executives and Managing Director.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts, including drafting accounts, preparation of group annual accounts pack and dealing with annual audit.
- Preparation of annual budgets, including group budget pack, preparing a presentation and presenting to the group Board.
- Providing financial advice to all company management. Supervising department involved in supplier payments, payroll, overseas payments including foreign currency payments.
- Preparation of VAT returns, reviewing Corporation Tax return, and other government statistical returns.
- Preparation of standard costs for new products and maintenance of the company’s standard costing system.
- Supervision of company’s rolling monthly stock takes and investigating differences.
- Dealing with insurance claims, company cars, mobile phones, gas and electricity contracts, diesel cards, local authority rates, and life assurance policies.
- Dealing with property lease renewal and rent reviews
- Carrying out system reviews on the company’s ERP system.
- Supervision of credit control and authorising customer credit limits.
- Presenting credit requests to and obtaining authorisation from the directors.
- Manage the finance team to deliver the above successfully.
Experience
- Proven experience in financial management within a manufacturing or related industry.
- Strong background in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and cost control strategies.
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services operations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
