Team Leader – Supported Living - Autism and Learning Disabilities

Full Time | Permanent | £13.60 per hour (£28,288.00 per annum)

We’re looking for a Team Leader to join Steps Newfield View Supported Living in Selby, North Yorkshire, as we open two new supported living services.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll support your team to provide outstanding, person-centred care and help the people we support live as independently as possible.
You’ll be joining as we open two new 4–5 bed supported living services, helping to build a strong team and create a service people can truly call home.
About the Service
Steps Newfield View is part of National Care Group, a leading UK provider of specialist adult social care and winner of Specialist Care Provider of the Year 2025.
The service operates across two nearby locations in Selby:
- Grange Meadow (YO8 4FE) – 4-bed supported living service
- Millcroft (YO8 9HL) – 4–5 bed supported living service
The service supports adults with a range of needs including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries. As this is a new service, support needs and routines will develop as individuals move in.
About You
You’re a confident, compassionate leader who leads by example and is passionate about high-quality, person-centred support.
You will have:
- Experience supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities
- A minimum of 6 months Team Leader experience is essential; experienced Senior Support Workers looking to progress into leadership are encouraged to apply
- Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care, or actively working towards this
- Experience motivating, supervising and developing staff
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A commitment to positive outcomes and continuous improvement
- Full UK driving licence (preferred, not essential)
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
What You’ll Be Doing
Every day will be different. You’ll lead the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support while helping people live more independently.
You will be:
- Leading and supporting the team through supervision, mentoring and training
- Overseeing day-to-day service delivery, rotas and staff cover
- Ensuring support plans, risk assessments, medication and safeguarding are managed effectively
- Promoting independence, choice, dignity and positive outcomes
- Working with families and professionals to coordinate effective support
- Ensuring compliance with CQC, health, safety and regulatory standards
- Supporting quality monitoring, incident management and service improvements
- Providing hands-on leadership and problem-solving when challenges arise
