2x Art Technician roles available – 1 Full-Time and 1 Part-Time
Hours: 35 hours per week – Full-Time
Hours: 21 hours per week – Part-Time
Contract: Term Time Only
Salary: £12,531.27 – £18,222.19 pro rata, depending on hours worked
Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Art Technician to join an educational team. You will support art lessons by preparing materials, maintaining studio spaces and assisting students with their creative development.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for art who enjoys working with children and supporting them to develop their confidence and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise art supplies, tools and materials for classroom use.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety within the art studio and classroom.
- Assist teachers with setting up projects, demonstrations and exhibitions.
- Support students individually or in small groups with techniques and project development.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement during creative activities.
- Adapt activities to support students with additional needs, including autism.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage students to experiment, build confidence and develop their artistic skills.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to support the delivery of art activities.
- Ensure art equipment and resources are well maintained and readily available.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in an educational or extracurricular setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of different art techniques, materials and tools.
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs or SEND is desirable.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, students and other staff.
- A patient, supportive and adaptable approach when working with students.
- Passion for art and encouraging creativity in others.
- Reliable, proactive and able to manage art resources effectively.
