International freight forwarding is a broad and complex industry that is fast-moving and consistently evolving. It involves the planning, implementing and overseeing of the transportation of goods across international borders.
Here at Rutland Worldwide Freight we are now looking for an Operational / Administrative Assistant to join our existing established team based at our South Luffenham site, providing support to the operational administrative and customer service elements of the day to day operation.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Responding efficiently to customers via email and telephone.

Supporting the team in coordinating the end-to-end freight forwarding process for land, air, and sea shipments.

Communicating with clients, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure the smooth and efficient shipment of goods.

Preparing and processing shipping documentation.
-
Monitoring shipments to ensure that they are on schedule, and resolving any issues that arise in a timely manner.

Supporting the team in negotiating rates with carriers and maintaining relationships with logistics partners.

Through guidance from the team, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Providing high quality customer service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and providing accurate updates on shipment status.

Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to shipments.
Job Knowledge and Skills
- The ideal applicant would have experience of working within the logistics industry, however most importantly is a proven track record of working within a logistics environment. In this fast paced industry we are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to achieve great results and meet our customer expectations.
