Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to foster independence and comfort
- Support with medication administration following prescribed instructions to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, promoting health and well-being
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, and organizing to maintain a safe living environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques or equipment to prevent injury
- Document care provided accurately in client records, noting any changes or concerns for ongoing support
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care is preferred
- Ability to perform light physical tasks such as heavy lifting and transferring clients safely
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between client homes
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hiring
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage behavioral challenges compassionately
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
