The Jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care.
The jobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources.
The job holder will support the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients and families/carers.
Criteria:
Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for children’s areas (Level 1 or 2)
Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment
Willing to undergo training as necessary
Evidence of continued professional development
Post registration qualification in specialty (desirable)
Current issues in healthcare
Significant and recent relevant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post registration experience within speciality.
Experience of clinical audit and standard setting (desirable)
Ability to organise and prioritise own and other’s workload.
Able to manage stress in self and others
Excellent written and verbal skills.
