Samba is a media intelligence company. We know what the world is watching, reading, and thinking about — in real time, at scale, across every screen. Our data exists with the consent of over a billion people, organized into the most complete picture of consumer attention ever built. The biggest brands in the world use that picture to make smarter decisions. We think it’s the most interesting data asset on the planet, because it’s the most culturally relevant.
This role sits at the intersection of business development and corporate development, supporting Samba’s commercial partnerships alongside M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or top-tier consulting and/or corporate development, with a finance, economics, or business degree. They have experience in strategic commercial deals: how to structure a partnership, evaluate a data licensing arrangement, and assess whether a BD opportunity is worth pursuing, along with fluency in financial modeling skills and an interest in the media and technology sectors. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on strategic transactions and commercial partnerships, while developing expertise in deal execution and financial analysis.
Support the evaluation and execution of strategic commercial opportunities across the media, technology, and data analytics sectors in EMEA, working closely with senior leadership on partnerships with platforms, OEMs, advertisers, and data partners.
Prepare business cases to evaluate business development opportunities, including revenue share structures, minimum guarantees, and multi-year deal economics.
Create partner-facing decks, term sheets, and deal summaries for strategic discussions with prospective and existing partners.
Conduct preliminary financial analysis and due diligence on prospective partners, including review of financial statements, key performance metrics, and business models.
Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, potential partners, and strategic opportunities in the streaming and advertising technology landscape.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, product, and engineering teams to support deal execution and partnership implementation.
Maintain partnership pipeline tracking and status reporting for ongoing business development activities.
Develop and maintain relationships with external advisors and partners, and attend industry conferences and networking events to identify potential opportunities and maintain market awareness
2–3 years of experience in business development, corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a commercial role in media, ad tech, or data — you understand how deals come together and want to build that skill set further.
Strong analytical foundations, with proficiency in Excel and the ability to build and maintain models assessing deal economics, valuation, and returns.
Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex financial and business information and communicate findings clearly and concisely to senior leadership.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating executive-level presentations.
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Curious and quick to learn — you want to understand Samba's products deeply and stay close to what's happening in the TV, streaming, and programmatic landscape.
A self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision, and a team player who contributes positively to the culture.
Willingness to travel as needed for partner meetings and deal execution.
Bachelor's degree required
