Job Title: Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Care Home Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our care home team. You will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily needs, ensuring they receive person-centred care while maintaining dignity, respect, and independence. This role is ideal for someone who is caring, patient, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist residents with mobility, including transfers and use of mobility aids
- Support residents with eating and drinking, ensuring nutritional needs are met
- Build meaningful relationships and offer emotional support and companionship
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any concerns to senior staff
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
- Follow care plans and work collaboratively with nurses and other team members
- Promote dignity, privacy, and independence at all times

- Basic understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or similar setting
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience supporting elderly residents, including those with dementia
- Knowledge of person-centred care and manual handling
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
