We are looking for a time-served vehicle technician to join our busy internal workshop.
Full-time position within a well-established team, friendly, family-run used car showroom with access to excellent facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in the use of hand and power tools. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality service to our customers and maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, clutches, wet belt changes, brake checks, and other fluids and filters.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to execute repairs and installations.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Experience
· Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred.
· Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
· Familiarity with automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
· Good understanding of MOT standards and regulations
