Locum Speech and Language Therapist (SEMH School) – Up to £70 per Hour

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a private specialist school for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive educational setting, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated communication difficulties to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Assess and support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes tailored to each pupil's needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, families and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide strategies and recommendations to promote effective communication across the school environment.
- Contribute to EHCP assessments, reviews and multidisciplinary meetings where appropriate.
About You
- HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within SEMH, SEND or specialist education settings.
- A strong understanding of speech, language and communication needs, with the ability to adapt interventions to meet individual requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A compassionate, proactive and collaborative approach to supporting young people.
