Position:
General Charity Manager:
Hours: 40 per week, over 7 days. Weekends and bank holidays may be required.
Reporting to: Chair of trustees
Start Date: No concrete date, recruitment will continue until the right person is found and we will work around the right candidate.
We are seeking a very special person to run this charity! Jackson’s Animal Rescue is ten years old, and has two rescue sites, three charity shops, and a rescue cat café. The role of the General Charity Manager is to oversee all sites, manage a small staff team, and assist with charity development.
While being an animal lover is very important, this role is not hands on with animals every day and has a focus on staff management, financial planning, fundraising and development. This is a role where no two days are the same, as the successful applicant will be trained to work at all sites in case of holiday or sickness cover, so one day you could be running the rescue in Mold, and the next day managing a fundraising event. There will also be some working from home required as the role does involve administration. This role is also supported by an Operations Manager. We are seeking someone with a huge amount of enthusiasm to bring new ideas into this charity. This is not a 9-5 role, it’s a role that’s difficult to switch off from, can be emotional at times, but is also incredibly rewarding.
Duties include but are not limited to-
- Shift leader responsibilities at all sites
- Overall staff management
- Financial planning and management
- Fundraising- planning and attending events
- Charity development, assisting the Operations Manager in finding new opportunities for charity development and growth
- Social media management. Creating engaging content and responding to queries.
- Assisting with management of a busy email inbox.

This is a temporary position to cover a sabbatical, however we do hope that the charity will be in a position to retain the employee after the 12 month contract, but unfortunately cannot make any guarantees.
