Who are Away Day Care?
You would be joining a family run business, originally founded by the family who set up our first Day Service Centre from their own family home. This came after realising there was a strong need for support in their local area. We are an award-winning, high-quality provider of person-centred social care services for adults.
We assist people with a range of needs including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health, dementia, Autistic spectrum, and sensory needs. Our sites are in the heart of the community, with a range of different settings including a comprehensive Day Service, Respite facility with state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy Spa and Sensory Suite, Supported Living settings, promoting development and life skills and an Employability hub.
As one of our Adult Complex and Additional Needs Support Workers based in Respite care, you will support service users by promoting person-centred care to empower individuals towards independence and reaching their full potential. You will build and maintain a strong, trusting relationship, encouraging everyone to reach their goals. The role is varied and will include:
- Assisting and supporting service users with all aspects of personal care
- Implementing each person’s individual care plan and work towards agreed outcomes.
- Ensuring the service is prepared for the following day with meals and activities so the service can be organised
- Complete associated housekeeping tasks including clothes washing, cleaning and updating communication tools used throughout the day time
- Administering and prompting medication where required.
- Be a kind, empathetic and people person who works well in a team
- Working in accordance with current CQC guidelines and legislation
- The role is varied and will include attendance at all mandatory training provided by the company which may fall on days you do not usually work.
