Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Deliver trauma-informed care that supports emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, hobbies, and recreational activities.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and life skills.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment.
- Support children with emotional and behavioural needs in line with individual care plans.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and safeguarding documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, social workers, families, and external professionals.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and company policies at all times.
RequirementsEssential
- Passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
- Previous experience in residential childcare, children's homes, youth work, education, social care, or support work.
- Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, or child development.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
