Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to food safety and quality. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food production, presentation, and service are maintained consistently. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing menus, and maintaining a positive and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current trends while maintaining consistency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to foster a cohesive team environment focused on excellence.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity and service quality.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health & safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Experience in menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with hospitality operations including serving procedures is advantageous.
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential for highly skilled candidates committed to excellence in culinary arts. Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
