Cymru Quarry Group are suppliers of granite & limestone aggregates, asphalt, readymix concrete, liquid screed as well as construction services such as road resurfacing & civil engineering, operating all over Wales.
We supply quarried materials, stone, concrete, readymix and tarmac from seven granite, limestone and sandstone quarries, three asphalt plants, eight concrete plants. We also deliver multimillion pound infrastructure projects and suppling the majority of the labour as well as the materials from our own resources. Our employees are skilled in road surfacing, paving and utilities works.
Cymru Quarry Group are looking for Surfacing Operatives. Based in South Wales, operatives will be required to work safely and productively, producing high quality work. Contract work with government & local authorities, domestic & commercial clients, working all around South Wales.
Experience in the industry is desirable for this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Contribute to the daily gang activities through operating plant and small tools for resurfacing works as directed by the foreman.
- Work within set timescales, as the job dictates, and / or as dictated by the foreman in charge, and other senior managers.
- Good general labouring skills, such as use of wheel barrow and shovel work, ground working, setting iron works etc.
- Carry out prestart checks noting & reporting defects according to the company procedures to ensure plant is safe to use.
- Safe use of plant in line with company procedures and manufacturers guidance.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures in line with company specific risk assessments.
- Willingness to work overtime and unsociable hour
- Comfortable dealing with clients and members of the public
- Hard working team player with a positive attitude
Person Specification
- Driving Licence
- Must hold CSCS qualifications.
- Proficient in skills associated with laying asphalt (Rolling / Raking / Paver Operation) or working towards obtaining these skill sets
