We are currently looking to expand our team and are recruiting for the following position:
The Steps to Cope Hidden Harm Service is a regional support for young people aged 11-25 impacted by parental substance use and/or parental mental health problems. The post holder will support a dedicated service in the Western Health & Social Care Trust area through the delivery of a range of project activities and interventions to young people and family members. This project has been supported by funding from the GF Trust.
Interventions Key Worker (Hidden Harm)
Summary of Role:
It is well established that living with problematic alcohol/ drug use or mental health issues in the family can impact children and young people in multiple and complex ways. These issues often co-exist and are known to be Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that can impact a young person’s development and outcomes in adulthood. The impacts for young people living with these issues in their family have been termed ‘hidden harm’ as they are often hidden from view, unseen and unheard, and often the young person is not provided the supports they need.
The Steps to Cope Hidden Harm Service provides direct support to young people, helping them strengthen their resilience and coping to the challenges they may encounter from alcohol, substance use or mental health issues in their family.
Steps to Cope is an evidence-based psychosocial intervention model that strengthens young people’s resilience to the impacts of substance use or mental health problems in their family. You will be provided full training in the Steps to Cope intervention model. The service is primarily delivered face to face from ASCERTs premises or in community based locations across the WHSCT area, but some delivery may be offered remotely.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Interventions Service Manager
LOCATION: Hybrid working based in ASCERTs Omagh office /part home working and operating across WHSCT. Includes some regional travel.
LENGTH OF POST: This post is funded to 30th September 2029 (possible extension subject to further funding)
HOURS: 35 hours
SALARY: SCP Point 18 £31,536 Plus 4% pension
