Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Welding Supervisor (working) to oversee welding operations within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising welding activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role offers the opportunity to utilise advanced welding skills, including MIG welding, and to lead a team of 3-4 welders in a dynamic setting. The position requires hands-on involvement with fabrication processes, sheet metal work, and the use of various power tools and hand tools. A strong mechanical knowledge base and proficiency in basic maths are essential for effective supervision and quality control.
Duties
- Supervise daily welding operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Perform MIG welding on various materials, including sheet metal, with precision and consistency.
- Oversee fabrication tasks involving sheet metal and assembly processes.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised welding equipment to support production activities.
- Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated components to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with team members to plan work schedules and optimise workflow efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior welders in proper techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and quality checks conducted.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and report any faults or repairs needed promptly.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively.
- Prior experience in supervising or leading a team of welders is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions accurately

- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality assessments.
