Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join our construction and safety team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-resistant barriers and ensuring compliance with safety standards across various building sites.
We currently have ongoing fire-stopping works with further projects secured and upcoming across Devon and Cornwall. While the initial placement may be project-based, there is strong potential for continued and long-term work for the right person as our workload continues to grow across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Stopper looking to work with a growing team with a consistent pipeline of projects.
Responsibilities
- Install fire-stopping materials in accordance with manufacturers' tested details, project specifications and relevant safety requirements.
- Work alongside other trades to ensure fire-stopping works are properly coordinated.
- Use hand and power tools safely to prepare openings and install fire-stopping systems.
- Read and understand technical drawings, manufacturers' installation details and project information.
- Ensure all installations are completed to a high standard and in accordance with the specified fire-stopping system.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Carry out checks on completed works to ensure installations meet the required standard.
- Work with site supervisors and management to identify and resolve issues that could prevent a compliant installation.
- Accurately record completed works and provide photographic evidence where required.
Requirements
- Previous fire-stopping experience is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of passive fire protection and fire-stopping systems.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturers' tested details and installation instructions.
- Competent using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing compliant work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant CSCS card and health & safety qualifications preferred.
- Willingness to travel to projects throughout Devon and Cornwall.
We have a growing pipeline of work throughout Devon and Cornwall, providing the opportunity for regular ongoing work beyond the initial project for reliable operatives who consistently produce high-quality, compliant installations.
Pay: £30,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
