Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including handling materials, stock management, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse, including heavy lifting where necessary
- Operating Articulated Forklifts and FLT forklift and other warehouse machinery in accordance with safety protocols
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and stocking of goods
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of products
- Using warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Supporting load and unload operations for lorries and containers
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment at all times
- Performing basic mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance when required
Experience
- Must have a valid FLT Forklift licence; preference will be given to those who have license and experience of operating Articulated Forklifts and/or willing to learn to operate Articulated Forklift with-in probation period. Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential;
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software will be beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with load handling equipment is a plus
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and quality assurance processes
Pay: £13.75-£14.50 per hour
