Accountant – Part-Time or Full-Time

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Accountant to join our growing business and work closely with the Directors and wider management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who is looking for either a part-time or full-time position, with flexibility around hours for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for key areas of the company's financial management, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance and reporting, while providing the Directors with clear financial information to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and prepare for monthly management meetings with the Directors, providing financial updates and management information.
- Manage and maintain the company's Hire Purchase (HP) agreements.
- Maintain the asset register and asset scheduler, ensuring all company assets and associated finance arrangements are accurately recorded.
- Monitor and manage Hire Purchase liabilities and payment schedules.
- Complete and oversee VAT returns.
- Manage PAYE and payroll-related financial requirements.
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external accountants/auditors where required.
- Prepare financial reports and information for Directors and management.
- Monitor company expenditure, liabilities and financial commitments.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete and maintained in a timely manner.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues as required.
- Support the Directors with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure the business remains compliant with relevant financial and tax requirements.
- Provide general accounting support and advice to the management team.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified or experienced Accountant with strong practical accounting knowledge. ATT qualified
- Experienced in VAT, PAYE and year-end accounts preparation.
- Confident managing Hire Purchase agreements and company assets.
- Comfortable working directly with Directors and presenting financial information.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of their responsibilities.
- Commercially aware and able to understand the wider financial position of a business.
- Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with confidential financial information.
- Confident using accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
