About the role
We're an established private dental practice in London with a small, close-knit team and a loyal patient base. We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager to lead the team day to day and help us grow.
This is a genuine leadership role, not an admin one. The directors are stepping back into an oversight position, so we need someone the whole team can look to and trust to run the place. You'll own the people, the operations and the smooth running of the practice, and you'll have a real hand in growing it.
To learn the practice properly, you'll spend your first few weeks working closely alongside the front desk, getting to know our patients, our systems and how everything fits together before you start to shape it. Once you're settled and a front-of-house team member is in place, you'll move off the desk and into leading, with occasional cover only when the team needs a hand.
What you'll own
- Leading, developing and supporting the clinical and support team, with regular check-ins, performance conversations, and clear standards everyone works to
- Recruitment from the front end: sourcing candidates, screening, and running first interviews, then handing a shortlist to the directors for final interview, followed by onboarding and training
- Building and owning the rota for both clinicians and support staff
- Facilities and equipment: repairs, servicing, suppliers, and keeping the practice running well and looking the part
- Managing leave, cover and day-to-day HR admin
- Keeping the practice compliant day to day (CQC, policies, health and safety), supported by our outsourced compliance partners
- Protecting and growing revenue: keeping the diary full, driving recall and reactivation, and supporting treatment plan follow-up and case acceptance
- Reporting to the directors each month against a simple scorecard
Who we're looking for
Proven experience managing a dental practice is essential. This is the one thing we won't compromise on. We're looking for someone who already knows how a practice runs, not someone stepping across from general office administration.
Beyond that, you're:
- A natural leader the team respects, comfortable setting a standard and holding people to it
- Commercially minded, with a real feel for the levers of a private practice: case acceptance, recall, and keeping chairs full
- Organised and proactive, the kind of person who follows things through to done without being chased
- Happy to be hands-on in a small team, including covering the front desk when it's genuinely needed
What's on offer
- A full-time role with real autonomy and the full backing of the directors
- Competitive salary, plus a performance bonus tied to how the practice grows
- The chance to genuinely run and shape a modern private practice, not just keep it ticking over
- A small, friendly team and a supportive, ambitious environment
Pay: £34,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Employee discount
- Private dental insurance
- Private medical insurance
- Sick pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Farringdon EC1M: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
