Pynes House is a renowned Georgian country house wedding venue set just outside Exeter. Known for our exceptional hospitality, calm professionalism and beautifully delivered events, we are now recruiting experienced bar and hospitality team members to join us for the 2026 wedding season and beyond.
This role is ideal for confident, capable hospitality professionals who enjoy working within a team and delivering outstanding guest experiences in a premium setting.
The Role
As a Bar & Hospitality Team Member at Pynes House, your primary focus will be delivering polished, professional bar service throughout wedding days. You will also work as part of our wider venue team, supporting the smooth running of events as needed.
This is a collaborative role within a unified operations team, working closely with our Event Managers, Drinks Manager and catering partners to ensure every wedding is delivered seamlessly.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent bar service to guests throughout the day and evening
- Preparing and serving drinks to venue standards
- Maintaining a clean, well-stocked bar and service areas
- Supporting cocktail hour service
- Assisting with venue transitions (such as ceremony to reception turnarounds)
- Supporting our catering partners when needed
This is not just a bar role - it’s a hands-on hospitality position within a high-performing events team.
Shifts & Season
- Primarily Saturdays, March to December
- Occasional Fridays or Sundays by agreement
- Typical shifts are 10–12 hours, depending on event timings, with shorter shifts available if preferred
- Some team members may also be offered paid pre-event preparation shifts
Pay & Benefits

Who We’re Looking For

- Have previous bar or hospitality experience (event or wedding experience preferred)

- Are able to drive due to location of Pynes House
Experience in weddings, events, hotels, restaurants or premium hospitality settings is highly valued.
