Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Free Range Poultry Stockperson to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee the daily care and management of free-range poultry flock, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being while maintaining the integrity of the farm environment. Your hands-on approach will support sustainable farming practices, promote animal welfare, and uphold high standards of farm maintenance. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for free-range poultry, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health status
- Conduct regular inspections of bird enclosures and pasture areas to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of fencing, shelters, and water systems using hand tools and power tools
- Perform equipment repairs and routine maintenance on farm machinery and tools to ensure smooth operations
- Support animal health by identifying signs of illness or distress and coordinating with veterinary professionals when needed
Experience
- Prior experience working with poultry or livestock in a farm or agricultural setting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair farm equipment
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair technique
- Strong animal care skills with a focus on humane handling and welfare standards
- Basic math skills for inventory management, record keeping, and measurement tasks
