Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, with experience in handling various tools and techniques to craft durable and aesthetically pleasing stone structures. This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from historic restorations to modern constructions, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship
Duties
- Cutting, shaping, and laying stones with precision to meet project specifications
- Using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and trowels to execute detailed masonry work
- Operating power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively
- Mixing mortar and other materials to secure stones in place
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and building regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience as a Stonemason or in a similar masonry role
- Familiarity with bricklaying techniques and masonry principles
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in masonry or construction trades are preferred
