Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper/Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and supporting administrative functions to ensure smooth business operations. Duties
- Manage and maintain financial records using SAGE accounting software s
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and promptly
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assist in preparing financial reports and summaries for management review
- Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence organisation
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
- Liaise with external accountants or auditors as required
- Maintain organised records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
Qualities
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within a similar industry
- Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software is essential
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential
