We are seeking a versatile assistant to support our kitchen and housekeeping teams, ensuring a warm, clean, and safe environment where residents can enjoy quality meals and a comfortable home.
This means you will have a direct impact on our residents, visitors, and staff.
You will need a caring nature, personable approach, and good practical skill. You should be reliable and have attention to detail. ensuring the home, laundry and kitchen are always cleaned to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Kitchen Support: Assist with food preparation, serve meals, prepare light snacks, and assist residents at mealtimes as required.
- Dining & Refreshments: Set up dining rooms, provide refreshments, clear away after meals, and return cutlery/crockery to the kitchen.
- Cleaning & Hygiene: Maintain high hygiene standards in line with Food Hygiene Regulations and IPC guidance. This includes cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, dining areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms to minimize infection risk.
- Laundry Services: Collect, wash, iron, and label residents' clothing and ensure linens are clean and well-maintained.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to Care Quality Commission standards, ISO certifications, and Health & Safety legislation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Kind, caring, and professional nature.
- Reliable with strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a care or cleaning environment is preferred.
Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
