Real People Solutions are working with a successful and growing client in the Barnsley area, who are looking for a motivated, organised, and ambitious warehouse controller to join their team.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, taking responsibility for receiving and storing goods, stock control, order fulfilment and dispatch. The role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, taking ownership of their workload and identifying opportunities to improve
Duties
- Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day warehouse operations
- Receive, check, store and dispatch incoming and outgoing goods
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately for dispatch
- Ensure all relevant shipping and order documentation is completed correctly
- Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular inventory checks
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
- Use a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage stock, orders and reporting
- Help optimise warehouse layout and storage to maximise available space
- Coordinate with couriers and transport providers to ensure timely deliveries
- Process incoming deliveries and returns, checking goods for accuracy and quality
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Carry out regular Health & Safety checks and ensure safe working practices are maintained
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet trucks where required
- Resolve day-to-day warehouse issues independently
- Work closely with internal teams to coordinate deliveries and ensure customer requirements are met
- Assist with equipment assembly and other operational requirements when required
- Support occasional deliveries and collections between locations
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the wider business
About You
The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of the warehouse operation and manage their workload effectively without direct supervision.
You will ideally have previous warehouse experience and a good understanding of stock control, order fulfilment and general warehouse procedures.
You will need:
- Previous warehouse experience
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently and prioritise your workload
- A proactive approach and strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Confidence communicating with suppliers, couriers and internal teams
- A willingness to identify and implement improvements
- Forklift experience/licence is desirable, although training can be provided
- A full manual driving licence, preferably with a clean driving record, as occasional travel between locations will be required
What’s on Offer?
- £27,000 – £30,000 per annum
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
