Maths Teacher – SEN / SEMH
NG5, Nottingham
Full-Time | Permanent
GCSE Maths
Classroom Link is recruiting a Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEN provision in the NG5 area of Nottingham on a full-time, permanent basis.
The provision supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and we're looking for a teacher who can combine strong Maths subject knowledge with the patience, resilience and relationship-building skills needed to engage pupils who may have found mainstream education challenging.
The Role
- Teaching Maths up to GCSE level
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs
- Working with pupils with SEMH and additional needs
- Creating a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment
- Using creative approaches to re-engage pupils with Maths and learning
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
- Working closely with support staff and the wider pastoral team
- Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils
We're Looking For
- A teacher confident delivering Maths to GCSE level
- QTS/QTLS or a relevant teaching qualification is desirable
- Previous SEN or SEMH experience would be highly beneficial
- Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education
Experience within specialist provision is advantageous, but we're also keen to hear from strong mainstream Maths teachers who are looking to move into SEN and feel they have the right approach and personality.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to join a specialist setting where you'll have the chance to make a genuine difference to young people who haven't always had a positive experience of education.
