Overview
We are a successful, growing business looking for an organised, reliable and hands-on Warehouse Stock Controller to join our team.
This is an important role within the day-to-day operation of our business, taking responsibility for the accuracy, organisation and movement of our stock, from the moment goods arrive through to their allocation against customer orders.
The Stock Controller will report directly to the Warehouse Manager, providing support across our warehouse and fulfilment operation while taking day-to-day ownership of stock accuracy and administration.
As a small business, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own area while also working alongside the wider team when required. Accuracy, organisation, communication and a willingness to get involved are essential.
Responsibilities
- Goods In: Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming deliveries, checking quantities and products against purchase orders and supplier paperwork.
- Delivery Discrepancies: Identify shortages, incorrect products or damaged goods and ensure issues are recorded, investigated and followed up promptly.
- Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock records and regularly reconcile physical stock against our inventory systems.
- Stock Replenishment: Monitor stock levels and identify products requiring re-ordering, helping to prevent both shortages and unnecessary overstocking.
- Stock Takes: Organise and carry out regular cycle counts and physical stock takes, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Order Allocation: Review incoming and outstanding customer orders and accurately allocate available stock.
- Pre-Orders & Back Orders: Manage incoming stock against existing customer orders, ensuring products are allocated correctly and efficiently.
- Goods Out: Support the picking, checking, packing and dispatch of customer orders when required.
- Stock Organisation: Ensure products are stored logically, safely and efficiently, making stock easy to locate while reducing the risk of loss or damage.
- Stock Accuracy: Take ownership of investigating discrepancies and identifying opportunities to improve stock-control procedures.
- Delivery Issues: Work with our courier and logistics partners to investigate lost, delayed or damaged deliveries, maintaining accurate records and following claims through to resolution.
- Team Support: Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, customer service and dispatch teams to ensure accurate information is available regarding stock and customer orders.
About You ....
We are looking for someone who is methodical, organised and naturally attentive to detail. You should enjoy problem-solving and take satisfaction from ensuring stock and records are accurate.
You should have:
- Previous experience within stock control, inventory management, warehousing or a similar operational role.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Confidence working with Excel and computer-based stock and ordering systems.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to identify problems, investigate discrepancies and take responsibility for resolving them.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to help elsewhere when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely within a small team.
- The physical ability to safely handle and move cartons and products as part of the normal working day.
Experience with Shopify, Excel and e-commerce fulfilment may be particularly advantageous.
Join us as a Warehouse Stock Controller and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to operational excellence! We are a close-knit family business where every member of the team plays an important part in our success.
This isn't a role where you will simply be asked to count stock. We want someone who will take ownership of our inventory, understand how stock moves through the business and help us continually improve the accuracy and efficiency of our operation.
You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and wider team, with the opportunity to make a visible difference to how our business operates.
If you are organised, dependable, enjoy solving problems and take pride in getting things right, we would love to hear from you.
