Duties
· Plan, control, and monitor production activities on the shop floor to ensure output targets are met.
· Ensure the continuous flow of materials so that required parts and resources are available in a timely manner.
· Drive lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, and waste elimination initiatives.
· Lead and support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimising resource utilisation.
· Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to quickly resolve production issues.
· Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and active employee involvement.
· Organise and participate in daily and weekly production meetings.
· Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure full compliance with all health and safety legislation and company standards.
· Ensure production lines operate in accordance with lean manufacturing principles and agreed processes.
· Ensure compliance with all site rules, regulations, and company policies.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Candidates should be qualified to minimum of GCSE level or equivalent.
- Significant production experience gained in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience and proven track record of supervisory and /or people management is essential.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques would be advantageous.
- Awareness of visual management.
- Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines and able to adapt to changing priorities and goals.
