Overview
Our beautiful day nursery in Valenitines Park, Ilford is recruiting for a Nursery Cook who is passionate about nutrition.
Timings
- Min 35 hours a week between 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, all-year-round.
Responsibilities
- Meal preparation for nursery children each day, whilst catering for preferences, allergies and other dietary requirements. This also includes preparing fruit & snacks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes or improvements based on seasonal ingredients.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is essential, with a focus on food preparation and culinary skills.
- A solid understanding of food safety practices and regulations is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Training such as food and hygiene certificates and running of the kitchen will be provided by the Nursery.
Successful applicants must undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references.
