We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Operational Support Officer to join our Adults Safeguarding Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting safeguarding services that protect adults with care and support needs. As part of a dedicated team, you will provide high-quality operational and administrative support, helping to ensure that safeguarding processes are efficient, responsive and focused on achieving the best outcomes for the people we serve.
About the Role
As an Operational Support Officer, you will lead and coordinate a range of operational support functions, supporting the day-to-day delivery of safeguarding services. You will supervise operational support staff, provide specialist administrative advice, and work closely with managers and partner agencies to ensure effective service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and directing the work of the Operational Support Clerk.
- Delivering a comprehensive administrative support service to safeguarding professionals and managers.
- Managing and servicing meetings, including agenda preparation, circulation of papers, minute taking and action tracking.
- Supporting quality assurance processes and performance monitoring.
- Producing management information and reports.
- Assisting with budget monitoring, purchase orders and invoice processing.
- Processing Freedom of Information requests and supporting GDPR compliance.
- Supporting business continuity planning and service improvement projects.
- Acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of internal and external enquiries.
- Maintaining excellent customer service standards and promoting continuous improvement across the service.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and highly organised individual who can manage competing priorities while ensuring high standards of customer service and administrative support.
You will have:
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the role.
- Experience working within an administrative, operational support or business support environment.
- Experience of servicing meetings and producing accurate and confidential minutes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience of producing management information and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR, Freedom of Information and confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding organisational and customer service skills.
- The ability to coordinate projects, manage workloads and support service improvement initiatives.
- Experience supervising staff and supporting team development.
