Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty commercial trucks during overnight shifts, primarily focusing on trunk runs that involve transporting freight between distribution centers and terminals.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks during night shifts, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Complete nightly trunk runs to and from various (Birmingham and Coventry) hubs.
- Adhere to Driver Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, safe and roadworthy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets.
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents immediately to ensure prompt resolution and safety compliance.

- Monday to Friday
- 18:00 start time
- Night shift operation
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with Class 1 trucks and trunk routes.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Familiarity with delivery procedures, route planning, and time management.
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients.
- Prior experience with delivery driver responsibilities is highly desirable.
Pay: £54,210.00 per year
