Pizza Chef Wanted – Join The Winery Team in Rye
The Winery in Rye is looking for a passionate and experienced full - time Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team.
We are a working winery which turns into a bar from Thursday - Sunday. The Winery is a lively venue serving pizzas alongside English wines, oysters, and other small plates. The ideal candidate will have experience working in fast-paced kitchen environments and a genuine passion for quality food and hospitality.
This role involves preparing and cooking pizzas, organising kitchen prep and stock, maintaining high food safety standards, and supporting service during busy weekends, events, and bigger group bookings.
The Winery is open Thursday–Sunday, as well as Bank Holiday Mondays, so weekend and bank holiday availability is essential.
The Role
* Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas to a consistently high standard
* Prep ingredients and organise kitchen stock
* Manage and organise food orders
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
* Prepare fresh ingredients and support with food prep throughout the week
* Maintain cleanliness and food hygiene standards
* Support occasional private events and larger group bookings
* Work closely with the team during busy services and events
* Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times
* Support occasional events

* Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar kitchen role
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong organisational skills

Job type: Full-time - Typical Working Hours:
* Thursday: 5pm – 10pm
* Friday: 5pm – 10pm
* Saturday: 12pm – 10pm
* Sunday: 12pm – 7pm
Please note that hours may vary slightly depending on prep requirements, events, and service levels. Opening times will be extended on Fridays from 12pm end of June. Team members may be required to start earlier for kitchen preparation, with the kitchen usually closing around 9pm.
Pay: £13.00–£15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
