We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Landscape Operative to join our grounds maintenance team working across grid road contracts.
The role will involve carrying out a range of vegetation management and landscape maintenance duties, including strimming, hedge cutting, shrub pruning and general grounds maintenance. The successful candidate will also assist with the safe operation of machinery and plant and support the wider team in delivering works to a high standard.
This is a practical, outdoor role requiring good physical fitness, a strong work ethic and the ability to work safely alongside other operatives and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vegetation and grounds maintenance works across grid road contracts.
- Strim grass, weeds, verges, around street furniture and other areas as required.
- Undertake hedge cutting using pedestrian and mechanised equipment where trained and authorised.
- Carry out shrub pruning and general vegetation management.
- Assist with clearance of vegetation, branches, brash and other arisings.
- Assist with machinery operations, including tractors, flails, mowers, chippers and other specialist equipment, where trained and competent.
- Load, unload and move equipment and materials safely.
- Assist machinery operators and plant operators during works.
- Maintain clean and tidy work areas and ensure arisings are managed appropriately.
- Carry out general grounds maintenance duties as required by the contract.
- Work safely adjacent to roads, footpaths, cycleways and members of the public.
- Follow site-specific RAMS, traffic management requirements and company procedures.
- Carry out daily checks of tools, machinery and PPE and report defects immediately.
- Wear the required company uniform and PPE at all times.
- Report hazards, defects, incidents, damage and environmental concerns to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Work as part of a team to ensure contracted works are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
- Represent the company professionally when working on client and public-facing sites.
- Undertake other reasonable duties associated with the role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
