Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 trucks with trailers to transport goods to designated destinations efficiently and safely
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards and roadworthiness
- Secure loads properly on trails , adhering to safety regulations and load stability requirements
- complying with legal driving hours and regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs, manifests, and other required paperwork
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road
- Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV Class 1 license (C+E)
- Demonstrated expertise in operating trailers and securing loads securely
- Previous delivery driver experience with a focus on timely and safe deliveries
- Knowledge of road safety regulations, driving hours legislation, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to navigate using GPS or route planning tools effectively
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatch teams and clients professionally
