About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Pallet Network Planner to join our busy transport team! This is a key operational role responsible for planning and coordinating, daily pallet collections and deliveries, ensuring exceptional service levels while maximising fleet efficiency.
Working within a fast-paced pallet network environment, you will liaise with drivers, customers, warehouse staff and network members to ensure all consignments are delivered safely, on time and in line with network and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise daily collection and delivery routes.
- Allocate work efficiently across the fleet to maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Monitor vehicle progress throughout the day and respond quickly to operational issues.
- Ensure all collections meet network cut-off times.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and warehouse teams.
- Liaise with pallet network hubs and member depots regarding freight movements.
- Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.
- Use the Transport Management System (TMS) to schedule, monitor and complete jobs.
- Minimise empty running and maximise route profitability.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying more efficient planning methods.
- Assist with general haulage planning when required.
About You
You'll be calm under pressure, highly organised and enjoy solving problems in a fast moving transport environment.
Essential
- Previous experience within a UK pallet network operation.
- Experience as a Transport Planner or Network Planner.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Strong understanding of multi-drop transport planning.
- Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and transport legislation.
- Confident using transport planning software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Desirable
- Experience using Vigo, Qargo, Mandata or similar TMS
- CPC qualification (not essential).
- Experience planning both pallet network and general haulage operations.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
