Overview
FareShare/Felix
FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. We source food that is surplus to requirements – from food retailers and manufacturers – and engage many volunteers to help redistribute this to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people (individuals who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated, recovering from addictions). FareShare now operates 23 warehouse depots around the UK and supports over 10,000 charities and community groups – Community Food Members.
Recent Merger: In 2026, FareShare merged with London’s largest food redistribution charity, The Felix Project. The combined organisation operates under the new name Felix.
Move On
Move On manage the Glasgow and the West of Scotland regional centre of FareShare, a charity supporting people to achieve personal goals and make positive, lasting change in their lives. Move On use FareShare Glasgow and the West of Scotland as a unique training site, offering the opportunity to gain qualifications; practical training and work experience; as well as securing their forklift and driving licenses. Many of the people Move On work with face barriers to employment, including low confidence; little or no work experience; poor physical or mental health; involvement in the criminal justice system and experience with addiction. Move On’s services are delivered in a manner which are trauma informed/skilled, person-centred and asset based. We are committed to supporting people where they need it, when they need it and for as long as they need it.
