We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Cwmaman. As Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents and staff. Your work will help maintain the comfort and well-being of our community, as well as ensuring all repairs and upkeep are carried out to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on the building and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, and heating systems.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Redecorate rooms and common areas as needed, including painting, wallpapering, and general cosmetic repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff and residents in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs when required.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools and maintenance supplies.
- Handle emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general maintenance, ideally in a care home or similar environment.
- Ability to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- A proactive, positive, and adaptable attitude.
- Previous experience in a care home setting is an advantage but not required.
