Job Summary
We are seeking reliable, experienced Roofing Gangs/Operatives to complete tiling, slating, and/or leadworks on new build residential sites in or around the Bognor area. These sites are on long-term contracts, so can provide steady, continuous price work for the right fit.
PPE and prices per roof to be provided by R&A prior to starting.
Responsibilities
- Carry out roofing works, including tiling, slating, and leadwork, in accordance with drawings, specifications, and agreed quality standards.
- Follow all site rules, health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Use the correct personal protective equipment and ensure tools, materials, and access equipment are used safely.
- Complete work to programme, maintaining a high standard of workmanship and promptly addressing any defects or snagging.
- Work closely with site managers, contracts managers, and other trades to coordinate activities and avoid delays.
- Attend site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications, building standards ,and client expectations.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and free from hazards, disposing of waste in the designated areas.
- Report safety concerns, damaged materials, access issues, or programme delays to the site supervisor.
- Protect completed work, surrounding structures, and materials from damage during installation.
Skills
- Valid CSCS cards for all operatives, SSSTS is desirable.
- Proven experience carrying out roofing works on new-build residential sites.
- Proficient in tiling, slating and/or leadwork.
- Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Ability to follow risk assessments, method statements, site rules, and contract manager's instructions.
- Good knowledge of roofing specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Skilled in the safe use of roofing hand tools, power tools, and access equipment.
- Able to produce high-quality work while meeting agreed programmes and productivity targets.
- Confident identifying defects, completing snagging, and reporting issues promptly.
- Reliability and communication is a must.
