Hours: 30-36 hours per week, over 4 days
Pay: £15 per hour, subject to experience

Mearns Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA who enjoys a varied role and would like to become an important part of our practice team. The successful candidate will work across a range of clinical areas, supporting both our nursing team and GPs in delivering high-quality patient care.
About the role - A key part of the role will be running phlebotomy clinics both in the surgery and home visiting, alongside a variety of other clinical duties, including:
- Wound care and dressings
- B12 injections
- Blood pressure checks
- Compression stocking fittings
- Supporting chronic disease management clinics
- Carrying out annual chronic disease review work-ups
- Supporting the practice with patient recalls and invitations for annual reviews
- Assisting with cardiovascular clinics
- Undertaking home visits for blood tests, dressings, B12 injections, stocking fittings and blood pressure checks
- General clinical support for the wider practice team
- Stock ordering
The role will offer plenty of variety, with a balance of practice-based clinics, chronic disease management and home visiting.
About you
Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant is required. Previous experience within a GP practice or primary care setting would be highly desirable. We are looking for someone who is:

- Organised and able to manage a varied workload
