Structures & Pavements Engineer
Location: Warrington (UK Travel Required)

About the Role
We are seeking a Structures & Pavements Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure and construction projects across the UK, undertaking structural investigations, pavement assessments, asset inspections and technical engineering assessments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, supporting clients with maintenance, repair and asset management strategies while contributing to the continued growth of our Structures & Pavements division.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural inspections and condition assessments of bridges, buildings, retaining walls and other civil engineering assets.
- Carry out pavement investigations, condition surveys and failure assessments for highways, airfields and industrial pavements.
- Design, manage and supervise intrusive and non-intrusive investigation works.
- Specify and interpret testing requirements including coring, structural testing, pavement sampling and laboratory investigations.
- Review and analyse field and laboratory test data.
- Produce technical reports, engineering assessments and recommendations.
- Support clients with maintenance, repair and asset management strategies.
- Liaise directly with clients, contractors and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Prepare project specifications, risk assessments, method statements and technical documentation.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
- Support business development activities and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Assist in the continued growth of the Structures & Pavements division.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Highway Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within structural investigations, pavement engineering, materials testing or infrastructure assessment.
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
- Understanding of pavement construction, maintenance and deterioration mechanisms.
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures.
- Experience using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Covermeters, Ferroscanners or similar survey equipment.
- Experience managing subcontractors.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Desirable Requirements
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
- Experience within highways, rail or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of DMRB standards and highway asset management principles.
- Understanding of concrete durability assessments and structural testing techniques.
