Position Title: Night Shift Supervisor

Position Summary
The Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities during the night shift in the metal electroplating facility. This role ensures production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency. The supervisor ensures Health and Safety compliance during shift, ensures, Environmental compliance during shift, leads and supports production employees, monitors electroplating processes, resolves operational issues, and ensures equipment and personnel perform effectively throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all night shift production activities.
- Ensure production schedules and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
- Monitor electroplating processes to maintain product quality and specification compliance including quality inspection and sign off.
- Ensure all plating baths, chemical processes, temperatures, current densities, and operating parameters are maintained within established limits.
- Conduct regular inspections of production lines, equipment, and finished products.
- Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, waste management procedures, and operating permit, including management of the effluent plant.
- Lead and motivate production employees to achieve performance objectives.
- Assign daily work and balance staffing to maximize productivity.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to improve skills and performance.
- Investigate and address production issues, quality concerns, equipment failures, and employee performance matters.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure timely repair of production equipment.
- Complete shift reports, to offer 360 communication with day shift supervisors and the Operations Manager, detailing production output, downtime, quality issues, incidents, and staffing.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and inventory records.
- Ensure housekeeping standards (5s) are maintained throughout the facility.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Communicate effectively with day shift supervisors to ensure smooth shift handovers.
Safety Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure employees follow all health and safety procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure emergency procedures are understood and followed.
- Verify proper storage, labelling, and handling of hazardous chemicals.
Quality Responsibilities
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications.
- Monitor plating thickness, adhesion, appearance, and process quality.
- Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with Quality personnel to resolve customer or internal quality concerns.

Pay: From £14.50 per hour
