SolidCor is on a mission to make volume fire door replacement possible within days — enabling the industry to rapidly achieve compliance and community safety in every building. Born out of the urgent need for change following the Grenfell disaster, we have built the fastest production times in the industry and the widest range of primary-tested fire door configurations. We are growing fast and we are looking for A-players to help us get there.
We are passionate about getting things right and obsessed with quality. Our products are safety-critical — when a fire door fails, the consequences are real. That starts with making sure the right product gets to the right place at the right time.
We are looking for a Senior Dispatch Coordinator to own the outbound logistics operation at our Chesterfield factory — ensuring every order is picked, packed, and dispatched accurately, on time, and to the standard our clients expect. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our production and delivery operation.
If you thrive in a structured environment, take pride in getting the details right, and want to play a direct role in a business that is genuinely making buildings safer — this is the role for you.
-
Own and manage the daily dispatch operation — coordinating order pick, pack, and despatch to ensure all deliveries leave on time and in full.
- Plan and prioritise outbound workload across the team, allocating tasks and managing capacity to meet daily and weekly despatch targets.
- Ensure all outbound orders are accurately picked against delivery notes and production records, with zero tolerance for incorrect or incomplete shipments.
- Liaise with carriers, hauliers, and logistics partners to book collections, resolve issues, and optimise delivery routes and costs.
- Maintain accurate despatch records and proof of delivery documentation, ensuring all systems are updated in real time.
- Work closely with the production team to align despatch schedules with manufacturing output and client deadlines.
- Support the wider warehouse and stores function — including goods-in, stock management, and inventory accuracy — as required.
- Lead, mentor, and support junior members of the despatch team — setting the standard for accuracy, pace, and professionalism.
- Identify process improvements in the despatch operation and work with the Operations Manager to implement them.
- Ensure the despatch area is maintained safely, cleanly, and in line with SolidCor’s H&S requirements at all times.
-
An A-player mindset — high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time.
- Proven experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics coordination role — ideally in a manufacturing or building products environment.
- Strong organisational skills — able to manage competing priorities, high order volumes, and tight deadlines without dropping the ball.
- Excellent attention to detail — rigorous about accuracy in picking, packing, and documentation.
- Experience working with carriers and logistics partners, including booking collections and resolving delivery issues.
- Confident using warehouse management systems, despatch software, or similar operational tools.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy warehouse and factory environment.
- Strong communicator — able to work cross-functionally with production, sales, and customer service teams.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team (preferable).
- Forklift licence (preferable).
This is a chance to own the dispatch operation at one of the UK’s fastest-growing fire door manufacturers — with real responsibility, a tight-knit team around you, and the satisfaction of knowing your work directly contributes to getting safety-critical products to where they’re needed. At SolidCor, we ask a lot — and we give a lot back. The hours are real, the standards are high and the work is demanding, but for those who show up, deliver and go the extra mile, the rewards follow. A-players here enjoy a competitive salary, a Personal Development Plan with ongoing training and mentoring, unlimited holiday, a bonus scheme paying up to 50% of annual salary, enhanced maternity and paternity, lunch, snacks and refreshments on us every day (fresh fruit and Takeaway Friday included), a team social budget, cycle to work, an auto-enrolment pension, two major company events a year and our Reward and Recognition scheme — including European mini-breaks for those who go above and beyond. It is a collaborative, high-energy environment focused on doing things the right way — and none of it is a perk for showing up; it’s what we share with the people pulling the business forward.
