Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Care Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals at there own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with their daily needs, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, behaviour, and progress
- Assist with mobility and transfer using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans
- Support clients with household tasks such as laundry, light cleaning, and shopping errands if required
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with dementia or other behavioural challenges
- Uphold health and safety standards, including infection control procedures and manual handling protocols
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care environment such as care home or home care is desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Certification in first aid is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Experience in Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, or hospice care is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a caring environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving community-based support or patient transport
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility tasks
