Catering Assistant – Temporary Contract

Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday
Shift Times: Between 7:00am and 6:00pm

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a busy school catering team on a temporary basis.
The role will involve working split shifts, with exact hours negotiable depending on the candidate. The position is ideal for someone who is flexible and comfortable working across different parts of the school day.
Example Working Pattern
Monday–Thursday:
7:00am–10:00am and 2:00pm–6:00pm
Friday:
7:00am–10:00am and 1:00pm–6:00pm
The above shifts are an example and can be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and service of food
- Supporting the catering team with general kitchen duties
- Washing up and keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy
- Cleaning tables and food service areas
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Helping to ensure the catering operation runs smoothly
- Working as part of a friendly and professional team
About You
- Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Good standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
This is a temporary position offering 36 hours per week, with shift patterns negotiable for the right candidate.
Pay: £16.75-£19.00 per hour
