Charity Administrative Assistant (Part-Time, Self-Employed)
Hours: Approximately 8 hours per week (flexible and negotiable)
Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum, pro rata
Location: Home-based (with some local in-person meetings)
About Us
The Old Bakehouse, Chadlington is a local charity created to ensure the future existence of the affordable, supported independent-living home for older people in our community.
We are looking for a confident, organised and friendly individual to support the general administration of the charity. This is a varied and rewarding role, working closely with our Board of Trustees and Community Engagement Officer to help ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to the Board of Trustees
- Preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and following up on actions
- Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities
- Administrative support of fundraising and community engagement events
- Volunteer administration
- Working collaboratively with Trustees and Community Engagement Officer on a range of projects
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is organised, proactive and reliable
- Has excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Is confident using basic IT systems
- Enjoys problem-solving and managing a varied workload
- Is approachable, enthusiastic and enjoys building positive relationships within the community
- Can work independently while also being part of a small, supportive team
Additional Information
This is a flexible, home-based freelance role with attendance of regular board meetings, and occasional requests for evening or weekend work to support the charity’s events.
